Dawned!

Pardon me if this isn't the usual cheerful or positive post that I have. I am so not feeling well today because of several reasons. First, its the time of the month (the PMS thingy), that might be the reason why I am feeling so low this week. Secondly, it will be our last week from the department I have been working for more than four years. We will be moving to a different one and we'll be acquiring a different role. I have learned to love the team that I have been working with for years plus the customers as well that is why I am really super sad about the recent reorg. But I know we have to accept it and be thankful that we still have our jobs since I know the numbers of unemployed is still growing. But what is really putting me down right now is that I have just recently knew that politics at work had won over hard work. Tsk! I know that kind of thing is inevitable most of the times, but that still frustrates me. Sigh! I just hope and pray that all of these shall pass and that I could accept the things that I know I could not change. I think I need to say the Serenity Prayer of couple times now.

Just saying!

We have been hit with a Tropical Storm named Pedring since Monday. There are lots of places that were affected, floods everywhere and classes were suspended. It is really heartbreaking seeing the news on it. I have decided to call off from work last night because it was really scary to go out. The winds were whistling and it was raining really hard. The only good thing that this storm had brought, was some quality time with my family. We have spent the whole day cuddling.
We hope and pray that everyone is safe from the wrath of Pedring!

Ruby Tuesday #94: The Smurfs Review

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

ruby tuesday

Finally, we were able to watch The Smurfs and here's my review. I know I am late and this might not be of help to some. But here it is anyways :) First, here's a bit of synopsis from IMDb as for reference:
When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours -- in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.
I know I have seen one of the episodes of The Smurfs back in those days but apparently I could not remember a thing. I honestly just knew some of their names like Papa Smurfs, Smurfette, Clumsy, Brainy and the others who I came to remember because of the McD's happy meal and that just it.
So before watching this flick, I really don't have any high hopes on it. What I just cared about was this flick will be enjoyed by my kiddo and I am happy that she did! The story started when the peaceful place of the Smurfs was invaded by Gargamel which brought some of the smurfs into the world of humans, in New York. They met a couple while they were trying to escape from Gargamel. This couple will help them in fighting Gargamel and in going back to their place safely. It is just as plain as that. Definitely for kids! The graphics were believable enough for the kids to appreciate. Except for the cat, the animation was not really that good but I don't think kids will notice that. The fight scenes were made lightly and not too violent. Of course it has a happy ending. Cute and light movie indeed! And just like my kiddo, we have enjoyed watching it as well. If you are looking for a movie to watch during family time, you can try this one.

How about you, have you seen this flick?

How 's your weekend everyone?
Since I have decided to post my 365 project weekly, here's what happened over our weekend with some pieces of happenings from last week.

We did our grocery shopping last Monday while waiting for our little tot to finish her class. Then Tuesday, she missed her class since she was not feeling well. Colds again!

Then Wednesday, I was able to convince hubby and my little tot to do planking all for the sake of my project LOL! I got that inspiration after hearing the news about the pursuance of Anti-Planking Law. This is not to show protest, I am just disappointed with the lawmakers, instead of creating a much more important law, they give attention to this. Then Thursday was spent highlighting notes on my book.

Then Friday, I was able to satisfied one of my cravings, Champorado! Then Saturday, we were supposed to bring our little tot to her Pedia for check up but since her Pedia was on vacation, we just stayed at home and played the whole day. Can you spot the little one in the right photo below?
Then Sunday, after hearing the mass, we saw this SALE in Mini Trade Hall of Festival Mall. Who wouldn't stop and look around after seeing some red 50% Off signs?!
After looking around, there wasn't something that caught my attention. Good thing right? LOL!

So how was your last week or your weekend?
Have a great week everyone!

Friday Fill-ins #95 and Letters of Intent #76

And...here we go!
1. When I walk around my neighborhood I see lots of holes and craters on the roads!
2. Fettuccinne Alfredo is my favorite thing to cook.
3. Life is a series of experiences.
4. My sheepig stuff toy makes me feel all warm and fuzzy
5. Definitely, pumpkin is my favorite Autumn vegetable.
6.Tea for me is better when it is served with mint and non-fat milk.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to nothing really much, just work stuff, tomorrow my plans include bringing our little tot to her Pedia for a checkup and Sunday, I want to just relax at home while finishing all my homework!

Foursons
To One of my Group mates,

I know you are aiming to be one of the gold medalists in our class and I certainly admire you for that. But please, my only request is for you not to share that burden with us or with me. Though it is such a great honor if I will be one of the gold medalists too, but I know it requires much effort on my side for me to achieve that. I have already accepted that fact the first time I enrolled for my masters and I have decided to just be one of the graduates. It is my choice and I think that I won't have any plans on changing it. So please, let us do our part on our own way and stop commanding us on what to do. Besides, I am the only one responsible for my grades.

From a Low-Profile Student
